On 1st June 2011 Rosleys Solicitors amalgamated with Challinors Solicitors a long established and very substantial firm with offices throughout the Midlands. Pramila was born in Kenya, lived in Uganda, India, and America.

Educated in England and qualified as a solicitor in 1985.

Pramila has always been an enthusiastic family lawyer specialising in Finance as well as Childrens issues. She has acted and represented high net worth celebrities as well as client on public funding. She is an accredited member of Resolution. She has been a practising mediator since 1995 and a Professional Practice Consultant supervising a team of mediators. She is also a Collaborative Lawyer. She is Member of the Law Society Advanced Family Panel and Child Care Panel.

Pramila is passionate about assisting clients, during what is very often the most difficult and changing period in their lives. She strives to ensure that the best outcome is found for the client. This can often be achieved by working collaboratively, or by working as a mediator. When necessary, she will vigorously present the case through the courts as well. Each client has unique needs and due to her extensive experience in the specialist areas of family law, Pramila accurately recognises and meets the client's needs.

John Rosley who continues as a Consultant in the new expanded firm qualified as a solicitor in New South Wales, Australia before coming to the UK and establishing his practice in Nottingham. John has maintained his Australian connection and has serviced many international and Australian Divorce or family law clients. It is believed that John is the only Australian family and divorce lawyer practising in the Midlands. John has undertaken many cases with an Australian or International aspect including Divorce, International Child Abduction, International Contact and Financial Provision Disputes, Australian CSA Enforcements and various other issues but always in Family Law.

A little background history;

JOHN ROSLEY, B.A., LL.B.
Born in Poland, Educated in Australia, Sydney University BA 1973 and LLB 1976.

Attended the College of Law at Sydney 1977 and admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia 1977.

Qualified as a solicitor in the United Kingdom 1980.

Established Rosleys Solicitors in 1984 in Nottingham City Centre as a progressive and innovative Law Firm specialising in Family and Divorce Law and increasingly international divorce and international family law cases.
John has been closely associated with the Womens Refuge movement acting for some ten years as Trustee of a major womens refuge in Nottingham and was a longstanding member of "Resolution" increasingly devoted to matrimonial disputes involving private clients of substance with expertise in both financial and property disputes and issues concerning children.

CLAIRE MCLEOD, B.A., LL.B.

Claire McLeod - Prior to joining Rosleys solicitors Claire dedicated herself to voluntary sector work including providing assistance to clients of limited means through Tribunal Representation and Advice Centres.

Trained with Rosleys since 1997 developing expertise in all aspects of Private Family Proceedings.

Experienced in cases involving children, custody and contact disputes, including international child abductions and applications under The Hague Convention and recovery of children from abroad.

Claire joined the partnership in 2004. Since that time Claire has undertaken increasingly demanding family litigation including financial settlements and continues as a dedicated family lawyer accepting nothing but Family and Divorce cases.

Challinors started as Challinors & Roberts in in 1948. Lyon Clark started in West Bromwichin 1936, although Lyon Clark had been in practice with his brother at WD Clark since before the First World War. Both firms merged to form Challinors Lyon Clark in 1996.

Lyon Clark acquired Cartwright and Lewis in April 2006. Later the same year it acquired the practice of Tim Stannard and then Jordan Turner in 2007. More recently it acquired Sheltons in July 2009 and a month later, White and Billingham.

Specialism:
Andy has a wealth of management experience in areas such as law, estate agency and financial services having run multi site sales operations for organisations such as Legal & General. Reporting to the Management Board and working closely with the management team, he is responsible for the financial, operational and strategic direction of the firm.

Recent career history and membership:
Andy was Chief Executive of a leading Midlands law firm before moving to Challinors. He is involved in consultancy in law firm management and technology, and has held a number of non-executive directorships. He has been involved in the management of a national estate agency chain and property investment.

Interests:
In his spare time Andy enjoys playing golf and seeing a good film at the cinema. He appreciates art, listening to music, good food and wine.

Paul Griffiths
Senior Partner

Specialism:
Paul specialises in heavyweight commercial litigation, professional negligence (panel member), commercial landlord and tenant and insolvency. He has particular expertise in relation to disputes involving real estate. He has extensive experience in the civil courts and alternative dispute resolution. He acts for a range of commercial clients within the industrial, professional and financial sectors including a top ten Building Society.

Joined Challinors:
Appointed Partner with Lyon Clark in 1988. Lyon Clark merged with Challinors in 1996 and Paul was appointed Senior Partner of Challinors in 2007.

Recent career history and membership:
Paul is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association and the Law Society's Civil Justice Section. He currently sits as a Deputy District Judge in the High Court and County Court. He is a former Deputy Coroner and a former non-executive board member of a local Health Authority.

Interests:
Playing golf, watching sport, listening to music.

Sarah Pottle
Head of Property Team

Specialism:
Sarah is a qualified Legal Executive and former IFA, with extensive experience in residential conveyancing. She heads up the property team which deals with all aspects of both residential and commercial conveyancing for major clients including financial institutions, auction houses and investors. She has a particular interest in business and people development.

Recent career history and membership:
Before joining Challinors, Sarah spent twenty years with a leading East Midlands legal practice building upon an extensive network of contacts with estate agents, financial institutions and mortgage lenders. She has a wealth of experience in working to stringent service standards and built up a large, successful team dealing with high volume conveyancing for the extensive estate agency branch network of a building society.

Interests
In her spare time Sarah enjoys horse riding, going to the cinema, listening to music and seeing bands in concert.

Peter Lowe
Partner, Head of the Dispute Resolution Team, Public Notary

Specialism:
Peter conducts claimant professional negligence work, commercial insurance and contract disputes, land disputes including nuisance, adverse possession and title claims. Other areas of work include contested probate, capacity and inheritance claims, contested trusts, and solicitors' costs. He has a long civil litigation experience. Peter has been involved in civil claims for nearly 40 years including high value claims in the High Court (Queen's Bench and Chancery), Mercantile Court, Technology and Construction Court.

Recent career history and membership:
Peter is a former council member of the Birmingham Law Society and former member of the Civil Litigation Committee of that Society. He is a Member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers' Association and now runs the dispute resolution team which incorporates all aspects of contentious work. The team also has specialists dealing with construction litigation, licensing, fraud and asset recovery and professional negligence.

Michael Knibbs
Partner, Head of the Corporate Team

Specialism:
Michael has particular experience and expertise in logistics agreements covering warehousing along with national and international carriage as well as advising on all aspects of corporate and commercial matters including company sale and purchase transactions and business trading agreements. The team consists of specialists in both corporate and employment law able to provide a wide range of services to a variety of different businesses including start-ups, established SME's, larger corporations and publicly funded bodies. The team handles a wide variety of corporate issues including advising on charity law and employment law both for employers and employees.

He was a Corporate Partner for three years at a leading East Midlands legal practice, prior to which he was senior associate in the East Midlands office of a national law firm.

Fiona O'Sullivan
Partner, Head of the Family Team

Specialism:
Fiona specialises in ancillary relief and family law and specifically in advising high net worth individuals. She has a particular expertise in advising on the pension aspects of financial settlements. Fiona has extensive experience acting for professionals across the economic sector and a high proportion of her work is referred by Barristers, Judges and other solicitors based upon her reputation across the Midlands. She also acts for clients working within the Legal Professions.

In the Chambers 2011 ranking, the firm's five-partner family team are noted as handling "all aspects of public and privately funded work, ...a slick outfit that provides its clients with diligent and effective representation." Fiona is profiled as "a tough litigator with good client skills." She is a highly experienced ancillary relief specialist.

Fiona is an accredited specialist with Resolution one of a handful of solicitors authorised in the Midlands by this national scheme. Interests:
Fiona is married with three children and as part of her multi task juggling skills enjoys horse riding and walking in her spare time.

Fiona Debney
Partner, Head of the Wills, Trusts & Probate Team

Specialism:
Fiona specialises in Wills, trusts and probate. Her team has a wealth of experience in dealing with Court of Protection applications and all aspects of estate, inheritance and tax planning including trusts, lasting powers of attorney and living Wills.

Joined Challinors:
Fiona joined Cartwright and Lewis as a trainee solicitor in 1992. Before the merger with Challinors in April 2006, Fiona was the Managing Partner of the firm.

She is a member of National Association 'Solicitors for the Elderly' (SFE) and of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Interests:
In her spare time, Fiona enjoys horse riding, archery, cooking and has learnt to use sign language.

Ghulam Sohail
Partner, Head of the Criminal Defence Team

Specialism:
Ghulam leads the firm's Business and Serious Crime Department. He has represented private and public funded clients in matters investigated and prosecuted by the S/HMRC/SOCA/SFO/Counter Terrorism Unit, as well as acting in a variety of regulatory matters across the country. He has developed a large team able to advise on all aspects of criminal defence from simple driving offences to complex fraud and money laundering cases.

Recent career history and membership:
Notable cases have included successfully defending in a counter terrorism prosecution successfully representing a Customs Officer and separately a CPS Case Worker in relation to allegations of corruption, successfully representing a prison inmate being investigated for an alleged escape from prison with "Al-Qaeeda" members, being instructed in one of the largest ever construction frauds on behalf of a Company Officer, receiving numerous further instructions in cases of very high value fraud alleged to have been committed against a number of financial institutions. Ghulam is regularly instructed in a number of murder cases of high profile.

Ghulam receives numerous recommendations and referrals from others within the profession, has appeared in a number of AG references and more recently in a CCRC referral to the Court of Appeal.

The Crime team is ranked as a Band 1 Firm in Chambers 2011, they are noted as an "experienced team", ... who have "the capacity to deal with any criminal matter, ranging from manslaughter to large drugs cases." Ghulam "pulls in a lot of substantial cases to the firm," and is especially noted for his impressive fraud work.

Andrew Bowen
Partner, Head of the Personal Damages Team

Specialism:
Andrew specialises in employer and public liability claims as well as high value road traffic accident claims and industrial disease. The work that he has undertaken on both a national and regional level has been complex and diverse. Andrew has successfully acted on a variety of claimant-based personal injury claims, drawing on his wealth of experience and standing in this field. He also acts for a national manufacturer in defending employer's liability claims. Andrew leads the personal damages team which incorporates clinical negligence and personal injury.

Andrew is a member of Birmingham Law Society's Dispute Resolution Committee and a member and former Chair of Sandwell Citizens Advice Bureaux.

Interests:
He enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music and improving his guitar playing skills. Andrew's a great fan of his hometown team, Walsall FC, and time permitting he likes to watch and play football. He's also a big comedy fan, regularly seeing stand-up shows and attending the Edinburgh Fringe.

Rosalind Dowell
Head of the Childcare Team

Specialism:
Rosalind is an experienced team leader. She has a wide knowledge of family matters, client service and office management and now runs one of the largest specialist childcare teams in the Midlands.

Recent career history and membership:
Rosalind was appointed Team Leader in 2008, supporting and working alongside the Family team and has been responsible for winning several high profile tenders for publicly funded work. Rosalind is an Associate Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).

Interests:
Rosalind enjoys listening to music, spending time with her family and friends, attending the theatre and comedy shows and travel.
